So finally… the Big Goodbye.

This describes how I feel, 100% about poker. (Substitute "Linda" for "Poker"):

I think this might be it.  I feel terrible. I feel like I've let down so many people that have invested their time and emotions with. I feel like I've wasted so much time over the last 2 years investing myself in a game I can't beat.  There are simply better activities that I can be doing with my time.  I feel like such a jerk too, for simply not being able to power through and put in the hands necessary that everyone tells me I need to do in order to get through a stretch like this.  But I'm simply unable to do it.  I hate what this game does to me and makes me feel.  My days as a player and taking this game seriously are now over.  I have so many apologies to give.

For those of you that have followed this blog for 2+ years, I want to thank you for your comments.  Take care and I wish you all the best.

  1. Well mate, you have my support either direction you go. Speak to you soon mate.

  2. You may not want to hear this but from what i remember from yuor graph you posted a few months back on CC, youve basically gone steady up the whole way from start to 100nl. This is both awesome, and shows u can beat the game and it is not a waste of your time, and also that you were probably running good for a long time. Thus you may not have experienced a lot of the variance other players already have.

Instead of being deeply depressed by it look at it as a challenge. It’s something new that you have not yet encountered fully. But its not special because you know many (good) players go through this.

So if you really want to quit and lack the motivation to get through it, thats your call, but i think its a waste. No matter what you tell yourself you are not incapable of beating the games anymore. Variance will just make you feel that way.

BTW: all the hands in the previous post are just sick coolers, nothing to be done about it.

  3. yo sean,
